MERIDA CITY OF LIGHT AND SHADOWS
2016 - 2017
Merida City of Light and Shadows
Is a photographic documentation which captures the urban landscape of a colonial city in present time. This vital city of the Yucatan in Mexico have the juxtaposition of different architectural styles, they sometimes blends seamlessly or clash, therefore, providing a constant evolving city scene, creating a challenge and opportunity for a new generation of architects to observe and experience.
This series is an exploration of light and shadows in a chaotic urban landscape setting, where the elements of the city comes into play, time, space, and memory simultaneously plays a role.
In September of 2017, I was invited to be in the Venice Biennale by the ECC (European Cultural Center) the exhibition took place At the Palazzo Bembo from May to November 2018, “Time, Space and Memory”.
